The Wedding

So you’ve been invited to a wedding!

First, let us extend our congratulations. And our sincere thanks–we’re so happy and lucky to have you in our lives!

Here are the details:

Who: Heather and Randall (and you guys!)

What: A wedding! Followed by a fun party!

When: June 26, 2015, ceremony to begin at 7 pm (This is a Friday…so you know)

Where: Barber Park Events Center, Boise Idaho

Why: Love, dummies!

How: Basically, you show up. On time, if you can. And if you can show up together in fewer cars, the environment will thank you. We’ll also thank you, because (assuming that Boise river float season has opened) freedom parking isn’t free and a lower parking bill for us is a happy thing.

Lodging: Look, we get that “lodging” doesn’t typically fall into the 5Ws and an H category, but it’s important too. The closest hotel is the SpringHill Suites Boise ParkCenter, though there are many options downtown. If you’re looking for a guesthouse experience, Boise Guest House is great too. Please contact us if you need other suggestions/recommendations!

Some Admittedly Less Important Details

The wedding party

You might be asking yourself why you weren’t invited to be in our wedding. The answer is, basically, we like all of you too much to just choose a few of you to stand beside us. Now, you get to enjoy our party without fixing the bride’s dress or doing whatever it is that dudes do to help grooms. You’ll probably see some cute kids in the wedding, but you can’t possibly expect us to not show off our cute nieces and nephews.

Weird wedding stuff

In an attempt to really stick it to the corporate America wedding gods, we’re only doing stuff we want. This doesn’t mean much for you unless you’re really into bouquet tosses and grooms getting up in their bride’s dress to remove garters with their teeth. We’ll still have all the classics–food, dancing, booze, dresses, bigfoot, interpretive dance.

Dress

Heather will be wearing a wedding dress and you’re welcome to do the same. Otherwise, wear what you’re comfortable in. If it feels good, do it. We can’t promise you won’t be arrested, but we welcome you to give it a try.

Booze

We’re going to be providing some booze, but you party animals are welcome to bring some extra cash in case the hosted bar runs out.

Gifts

If gift registries are your thing, we’ll be registered at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

The Sappy Love Story

In case you’ve somehow missed our “getting engaged” story, we’ll tell it to you now.

After Christmas, we’d decided to take a little “vacation from this vacation, am I right?” in lovely McCall, Idaho. We explored the hotel and took a nap. Randall said he wanted chocolate and went out to the car, insisting he couldn’t wait until dinner. This did not arouse Heather’s suspicions, as it was a very Randall thing to do.

Randall walked in the room and, still wearing his big puffy coat, was suddenly on one knee when Heather turned around. He didn’t want her to think he was breaking up with her and so he didn’t launch into a long winded speech, instead simply asking Heather to marry him.

She cried a little. She said yes. They hugged.

They went to a fancy dinner at a restaurant called Steamers which made them both laugh. Their waiter’s name was Greg.
